PEO Atlas
Privacy and your information
We keep this simple: PEO Atlas is a free matching service, and we only collect basic business and need details so we can help you compare PEO options. We do not ask for sensitive payroll, tax, banking, or employee medical information.
What we collect
To help match your business with participating PEO and HR outsourcing providers, we collect basic business information such as your business name, contact details, headcount, state, and what kind of help you need.
That usually means practical details like whether you want help with payroll, benefits, HR compliance, workers' comp, hiring support, or general HR administration. We may also ask a few simple follow-up questions so providers understand your setup.
We collect business and need details only. The goal is to help you have better conversations with providers, not to gather a large file of sensitive records.
What we do not ask for
We do not ask for highly sensitive information to use our matching service. You should not need to send private payroll or employee records just to get matched.
That means we do not ask for EINs, bank account numbers, employee Social Security numbers, full employee rosters, income details, or health records. If a licensed provider you choose later needs documents to prepare a formal proposal or onboarding, that would happen directly with that provider, not as part of a basic match request through PEO Atlas.
If you are ever unsure what is appropriate to share, keep it simple and contact us first through Contact.
How your information is used
We use the details you share to understand your business, narrow down which participating providers may be a fit, and help connect you with them. That is the core purpose of the service.
PEO Atlas is not a PEO, payroll company, benefits broker, insurance agency, tax firm, or law firm. We do not perform HR work for your business. We are a free matching service that helps you compare options.
Participating providers pay a flat fee to be included, but the service is free for your business. We do not promise a specific provider, a certain price, a savings amount, or any guaranteed outcome.
What happens after you are matched
If you decide to speak with a provider, that provider may ask for more detailed business information to prepare pricing or explain services. At that stage, you are dealing directly with that provider, and you should read their privacy terms, service agreement, and data requests carefully.
If you move forward with a PEO, the setup may involve co-employment. In plain English, that means the PEO becomes a co-employer for certain payroll, tax, and benefits purposes, while your business keeps control of hiring, firing, pay rates, schedules, and day-to-day work.
You stay in control of the decision. You compare providers, ask questions, review the contract, and choose whether to sign.
Your information, your judgment
A good rule is to share only what is needed for the stage you are in. For an initial match request, basic business and need details are enough. For a formal proposal, a provider may need more detail, but you should understand why they are asking and how they will use it.
Before signing with any PEO, read the full contract carefully. Watch for vague or bundled fees, long lock-in terms, hidden setup or exit charges, automatic renewal language, or pressure to sign quickly. It is also reasonable to ask whether the provider is IRS-Certified and whether it has ESAC accreditation.
Costs vary. Many PEOs price services either as a per-employee-per-month fee, often roughly $40-$160 per employee per month, or as a percentage of payroll, often roughly 2%-12%. Those are general ranges only, not quotes. The real number depends on your headcount, the services you choose, your payroll profile, and your state.

Common questions
Do I need to give my EIN or bank information to get matched?
No. For an initial match request, we collect business and need details only. We do not ask for EINs, bank account numbers, employee SSNs, full employee rosters, income details, or health records.
Is PEO Atlas a PEO or HR company?
No. PEO Atlas is a free matching service, not a PEO, payroll company, benefits provider, insurance agency, tax firm, or law firm. We do not perform HR work.
Will I lose control of my employees if I use a PEO?
No. In a PEO arrangement, the PEO may become a co-employer for payroll, tax, and benefits purposes, but your business keeps control of hiring, firing, pay rates, and day-to-day management.
Can you guarantee a lower price or a specific provider?
No. We do not guarantee pricing, savings, benefits rates, approval, or a specific provider. Actual pricing depends on your headcount, services, and state, and any cost ranges shown are general information only, not quotes.
What should I check before sharing more information with a provider?
Ask why the information is needed, how it will be used, and what happens if you do not move forward. Before signing, read the full contract, including fees, term length, renewal terms, and exit terms.
