Questions about PEO Atlas or ready to compare PEO options? We’re a free matching service for businesses — not a PEO or HR provider — and we can help you understand the next step.
How to reach us
If you want help comparing PEO and HR outsourcing options, the fastest step is to request a free match. We use the details you share about your business and what you need to help connect you with participating providers.
If you are still learning how this works, you can read more about our services or about PEO Atlas. We keep the process simple and focused on what a small business owner actually needs to decide.
PEO Atlas is a free matching service. We are not a PEO, payroll company, HR department, insurance broker, tax firm, or law firm, and we do not perform HR work.
What to send us
To help with a match, we only need basic business and need details. That usually means your business name, your state, your approximate headcount, what kind of help you want, and the best way to contact you.
For example, you might need help with payroll, employee benefits, HR compliance, workers’ comp, hiring support, or general HR admin. If you are not sure which service you need, that is fine — just describe the problem in plain words.
We do not need sensitive employee or banking information to start a match.
- Business name
- State or states where you have employees
- Approximate employee count
- What you need help with
- Your name, email, and phone
What not to send
Please do not send private or sensitive information when you contact us. A basic match does not require tax IDs, payroll files, employee Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, medical details, or full employee rosters.
If a provider later needs documents during its own review process, that happens directly with that provider. At the contact stage, keep it simple and high level.
What happens after you contact us
Once we have your basic business details, we help point you toward providers that may fit your size, state, and service needs. The service is free for your business.
If you decide to speak with a PEO, ask clear questions about pricing, services, support, and contract terms. Many PEOs price either per employee per month or as a percentage of payroll. A rough market range can be around $40-$160 per employee per month, or roughly 2%-12% of payroll, but the real number depends on headcount, services, risk, and state. These are general ranges, not quotes.
You stay in control of the decision. You compare providers, review the contract, and choose whether to move forward.
A quick note on co-employment
If you are new to PEOs, the main thing to know is this: a PEO usually becomes a co-employer for payroll, tax filing, and benefits administration purposes. That can help organize the back-office employer tasks.
Your business still controls the company itself. You keep control over hiring, firing, pay rates, schedules, job duties, and day-to-day management of your employees. The PEO handles certain administrative employer functions, but it does not take over your business.
Rules and employer obligations vary by state, so treat this as general information only.
Before you sign with any provider
If you move forward with any PEO or HR outsourcing provider, read the full agreement carefully before signing. Focus on the fee structure, what is included, contract length, renewal terms, and exit terms.
Watch for common red flags: vague bundled pricing, hidden setup charges, exit fees, long lock-in terms, pressure to sign quickly, or unclear answers about accreditation. It is reasonable to ask whether a provider is an IRS-Certified PEO or has ESAC accreditation.
PEO Atlas does not give legal, tax, insurance, or HR advice. For advice about your situation, speak directly with a licensed provider, your accountant, or an attorney.
Contact PEO Atlas to get a free match and compare PEO options, but do not send sensitive data — you stay in control of the decision.
Common questions
Is PEO Atlas a PEO company?
No. PEO Atlas is a free matching service that helps businesses compare participating PEO and HR outsourcing providers. We do not provide payroll, benefits, HR, tax, insurance, or legal services.
How much does your service cost my business?
Our matching service is free for the business. If you later choose to hire a provider, that provider will explain its own pricing and contract terms directly to you.
What information do I need to submit?
Usually just basic business details: your company name, state, approximate headcount, what help you need, and your contact information. Please do not send bank details, employee SSNs, EINs, or health information.
If I use a PEO, do I lose control of my employees?
No. In a typical co-employment setup, the PEO handles certain payroll, tax, and benefits administration functions, but you still control hiring, firing, pay rates, schedules, and day-to-day work.
Can you tell me which provider is the cheapest or best?
Not in a guaranteed way. Pricing and fit depend on your headcount, state, industry, and the services you need, so the right choice is the one you compare carefully after reviewing fees, support, and contract terms.
